Part-Time Position
GOALS OF THE YOUTH & CHILDREN’S MINISTER
1. Share Christ with lost and unchurched youth and children, leading them to salvation, and helping them to grow spiritually.
2. Grow the youth group numerically and spiritually, with an expansion of the activities offered.
3. Counsel youth related to their spiritual life, college choice, vocation selection, lifemate, social and family relationships
DUTIES IN YOUTH AND CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
1. Plan, direct, and evaluate a comprehensive youth and children’s ministry taking into consideration their spiritual, physical, recreational, social and psychological development.
2. Direct the teaching programs of the youth and children’s programs (Sunday School, Awana, VBS, Mission Organizations, Discipleship Training) in cooperation with the appropriate church leadership.
3. Relate the youth and children to the overall life of the church and the church to the needs of its youth. Lead youth to recognize the call of God in their life relating to vocation. Strive to enlist the youth in worship, Bible study, prayer, and other Christian exercise.
4. Provide special programs of spiritual growth and fellowship for youth such as mission activities, camps, retreats, meetings, banquets, and performances.
5. Promote a regular program of visitation for the youth in cooperation with the overall church program of outreach. Train youth in outreach and evangelism. Visit middle school and high school campuses for personal contact with students at school approved times. Maintain individualized awareness with the youth in all phases of the work, with emphasis on visits in home with young people and their parents.
DUTIES IN OTHER MINISTRY AREAS
1. Encourage and provide support for collegiate ministry.
2. Participate in the Worship Services as directed by the Senior Pastor.
3. Serve as a member of the church leadership council representing the youth and children’s ministry and coordinating with other church ministries.
Compensation: $25,000 + benefits
